An Executive Overview of Project Management


Target Population: Executives and senior managers whose leadership is critical to the success of projects. Particularly useful for organizational leaders who have not had formal project management training.
Group Size: Up to 20 participants
Length of Program: Up to one day, depending on level of detail and amount of discussion desired

The Need
Often executives and senior managers are the primary leaders of projects. To enhance their credibility and contribution to the success of projects, these individuals need to know the language, processes, and basic tools of project management.

Objectives
 • To understand the project management life cycle (five Process Groups)
 • To understand the 10 critical components of a project plan
 • To grasp and use project management terms and definitions
 • To understand the common tools of project management

Program Content
 • An overview and discussion of project:
        - Initiation
        - Planning
        - Execution
        - Monitoring and Controlling
        - Close-Out
 • Discussion of participant “on-the-job” project management-related issues and
    concerns
